“In the US, you can buy a refurbished iPhone 6s 16GB for as low as Rs 29,800”
Apple has been selling refurbished Macs, iPads, and iPods for a long time via its online store in several countries. Now the company has started selling refurbished iPhones as well, at least in the US for now. This is the first time in years that the Cupertino tech giant is selling refurbished iPhones on its official online store, with the last instance being in 2007.
Coming to the refurbished models on offer, the Apple iPhone 6s 16GB storage variant is available for $449, around Rs 29,800. The iPhone 6s Plus 16GB is up for grabs for $529 (~Rs 35,130), and the 64GB for $589 (~Rs 39,120). Apple’s online store says that the brand tests and certifies all Apple refurbished products and includes a one-year warranty. The refurbished iPhone models come with a brand new battery and outer shell. Also, it’s worth mentioning that they are being offered unlocked and come SIM-free
Earlier, Apple typically used to offer refurbished iPhones as replacements, or offloaded them to third party resellers. In India, the company’s request to sell refurbished iPhones was rejected by the telecom minister earlier this year.
