The basics

Simply put, the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer seems to be the Summer Surprise in disguise. The plans offer up to 2GB data per day for 84 days, which effectively translate to three months (28 days x 3). Jio Prime Members can recharge their numbers for Rs 309 or Rs 509 to get 1GB or 2GB 4G data respectively. Of course, Jio subscribers will continue to enjoy free voice calls, both local and national as well as unlimited SMSes. It must be noted that the Dhan Dhana Dhan offer can only be availed once, i.e. if you recharge for Rs 309 once, then you can’t recharge again to get the benefits for another 84 days.

Available for non-Prime members too

If you didn’t get a chance to join the Prime Membership, then don’t worry. The Dhan Dhana Dhan offer is available to you too, although at a slight premium. One can get 1GB / day 4G data for Rs 349, while the Rs 549 tariff offers 2GB data per day for 84 days.

New users can also enjoy the benefits

What if you are not a Jio user? Well, Reliance Jio is trying to entice you as well. You can get a new Jio SIM or port out from your current network to Jio. Then you simply need to pay for the Prime membership along with recharging your number with the tariff applicable for non-Prime members. This translates to Rs 408 (Rs 99 + 349) and Rs 608 (Rs 99 + 549), which provides 1GB and 2GB high-speed data for a period of 84 days.

Reliance Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer vs Summer Surprise offer

As mentioned above, the Jio Dhana Dhan Dhan offer is almost the same as the Summer Surprise offer. Although there’s a slight difference in the recharge tariffs – the Summer Surprise was priced at Rs 303 (and above), while to avail the latest offer, you need to shell out Rs 309 or Rs 509. The difference is also in terms of validity, as the Summer Surprise offer provided complimentary usage till June 30th, whereas the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer can be availed anytime (only once) with the usage period of 84 days. However, if you have already availed the Summer Surprise, then

You can’t subscribe to the Prime membership standalone

There’s no doubt that the Dhan Dhana Dhan offer is quite lucrative, but it must be noted that you need to enrol for the Prime membership to enjoy this offer. This also means that unlike earlier, where you could simply opt for Rs 99 subscription charges and not pay anything else, now you’d need to do the combined recharge of Rs 408 or 608.

Who is the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer for?

If you have already recharged for Rs 99, and Rs 303 (or the higher tariffs), then you don’t need to think about this offer at all since you can already enjoy the data benefits till June 30th. However, if you simply enrolled for the Prime membership, and didn’t get a chance to recharge further, then you can make use of the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. Similarly, Jio subscribers, who were on the fence whether to became Prime members or not, can avail this new offer.

Time to shell out the money…

Well, Reliance Jio has amassed more than 100 million subscribers with its free services and offers. However, now the Mukesh Ambani-owned telco is turning its eyes to profits. That’s why it introduced the Prime Membership, and now the Dhan Dhana Dhan offer. If you don’t opt for any of the recharge options, then the services will be discontinued.

Similar to previous offers from Reliance Jio, you can recharge your number with the required denomination by going to the Reliance Digital stores or do it yourself using the MyJio app or website. Jio’s partner recharge websites such as Mobikwik and Paytm should also be updated soon with the latest tariffs.
