Samsung Galaxy A40 support page goes live, launch expected soon

Within hours of Samsung launching its Galaxy A10, A30, and A50 smartphones earlier today India, a support page for the upcoming Galaxy A40 smartphone has gone live on the official site. The handset has been listed on the company’s website in Germany though. As per the listing, the Galaxy A40 will have model number SM-A405FN/DS (where the ‘DS’ stands for dual SIM support) and is expected to bridge the gap between the Galaxy A30 (first impressionand Galaxy A50 (first impression).

Going by an earlier leak, the Galaxy A40 will reportedly rock Exynos 7885 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. The phone is likely to boot Android 9 Pie-based Samsung’s latest skin One UI out of the box. The display size and battery details are not known at the moment; however, since it’ll be positioned in between Galaxy A30 and A50, the handset could come with Infinity U screen and a beefy battery.

To recall, the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A30 both boast of a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with U-shape cut-out up top, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ resolution. Powering the devices is an impressive 4,000mAh battery. While the Galaxy A50 rocks Exynos 9610 octa-core chipset, triple rear cameras, and in-display fingerprint sensor, the Galaxy A30 has Exynos 7904 chipset, dual cameras, and capacitative fingerprint sensor at the back panel. The phones’ price starts from Rs 16,990 and goes up to Rs 22,990 – depending on the model and variant. 

As for the Galaxy A40, the handset is expected to launch soon. Since the phone has been spotted on the German website, it’s likely to release in the European market first.
