“Samsung Galaxy A50 is said to launch in the first of 2019, after the Galaxy S10 has been released”
The upcoming Samsung Galaxy A50 could come with a 4000 mAh battery — the largest of any Galaxy A series smartphones, according to GalaxyClub. Currently, the Galaxy A9 (2018) has a 3,800mAh battery, while Galaxy A8 Star and Galaxy A8+ house 3,700mAh and 3,500mAh battery packs, respectively. Moreover, the phone will support reverse charging to other devices, a feature that Samsung wants to bring to its smartphones in 2019. These rumours suggest the South Korean giant is finally breaking from its current policy and is set to use bigger battery sizes on mid-range and budget phones.
Additionally, the report claims the Galaxy A50 smartphone will feature a 24-megapixel camera on the back – however, it adds that there could be more camera sensors on board for the rear setup. It may also have an in-display fingerprint sensor, though it will be of the optical type, not the more accurate ultrasonic one.
A recent Geekbench benchmark listing had revealed that the upcoming Galaxy A50 will run Android 9 Pie out of the box and will be powered by Samsung’s in-house Exynos 9610 chipset. The same will be packed with at least 4GB of RAM (though we can’t confirm the exact number yet) and 64GB/ 128GB in-built storage. As for the expandable storage slot, we’ll have to wait and see. Apart from this the smartphone could also feature an Infinity-O or Infinity-V display along with an in-display fingerprint reader, that is if you believe such reports.
As for the launch date, Galaxy A50 isn’t expected before the flagship Galaxy S10 and considering that Samsung usually hosts its flagship event in the spiring, you can expect to see Galaxy A50 in the first half of 2019.
