Now that the Galaxy S25 flagship series has been unveiled, the next focus will be on the brand’s mid-range offerings, which could be the Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36. Both phones were leaked multiple times recently, including renders and online listings. In the latest development, the launch timeline of the Galaxy A56 and A36 has been tipped.

  • According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Galaxy A56 and A36 will launch in India and globally around mid-March 2025.
  • For context, the Galaxy A55 and A35 also debuted in India in March last year and it appears the brand is following the same timeline for the successor.
  • If the said timeline is indeed in the plans, we can expect the brand to start teasing more details in the weeks to come.
  • The support pages of the phones have gone live on the Samsung France website recently, hinting at global availability.

Samsung Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36: what do we know so far?

Samsung Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 have leaked on multiple occasions. The renders of both models have leaked online and these showed a slightly redesigned camera module design. The phones have a boxy frame with rounded edges. The Galaxy A56 recently bagged the TENAA certification and this showed a similar design. Here’s what we know about in terms of hardware.

Galaxy A56

  • Display: The Galaxy A56 is tipped to ship with an FHD+ 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED display.
  • Processor: The phone is said to be powered by the Exynos 1580 SoC, compared to the Exynos 1480 chipset on the Galaxy A55.
  • Memory: 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage.
  • Cameras: The new A-series phone is said to ship with a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP secondary and a 5MP tertiary lens. This setup is similar to the Galaxy A55. There could be a 12MP on the front for selfies, which is a downgrade from the 32MP lens on the predecessor.
  • Battery: The Galaxy A56 could house a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging as per 3C certification. This is an upgrade from the 25W speed on the predecessor. 
  • Price: The Galaxy A56 is rumoured to be priced at £439 (approx Rs 46,800), similar to the predecessor in the region. For context, the Galaxy A55 launched in India at Rs 39,999 for the base model.

Galaxy A36

  • Processor: The Geekbench listing showed the Galaxy A36 may ship with Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 SoC, compared to the Exynos 1380 chipset.
  • Cameras: The Samsung Galaxy A36 is tipped to feature a 50MP primary camera and the other two sensors could be similar to the predecessor i.e. an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro. We might see a 12MP unit on the front for selfies compared to a 13MP unit on the predecessor. 
  • OS: The phone is expected to boot Android 15-based One UI 7 custom skin.
  • The Galaxy A35 launched at Rs 30,999 for the base version.
