Last week, Samsung sent out media invites for an event on May 21st, where the brand was expected to launch the Galaxy A and J series of smartphones in India. Now, the South Korean giant has gone ahead and launched the Infinity Display-toting Galaxy A6 and A6+ in the country. The Chaebol has already launched the A6 duo globally earlier this month. These smartphones bring Samsung’s Infinity Displays and powerful cameras to the mid-range.

The smaller of the two, the Samsung Galaxy A6 ships with a 5.6-inch display bearing a screen resolution of 1,480 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. In the performance department, the handset gets a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos 7870 processor backed by 4GB RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The smartphone is also available in a different variant that offers 64GB of storage. In terms of cameras, the rear panel houses a 16-megapixel f/1.7 sensor and there’s a 16-megapixel f/1.9 shooter on the front, which is accompanied by a dedicated LED flash. Out of the box, the Galaxy A6 boots Android 8,.0 Oreo and gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, just below the camera module, for authentication purposes.

Coming to the Samsung Galaxy A6+, it boasts a larger 6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display. Under the hood, the phone gets a more powerful Snapdragon 450 processor, which is accompanied by 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There is a 16-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual-camera setup at the rear and a 24-megapixel snapper for selfies. For power requirements, the Galaxy A6+ gets a bigger battery, which is rated at 3,500mAh. It boots the same software as Galaxy A6 and has an identical metal unibody design as well.

Both the Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ are being offered in black, gold, blue, and Lavender colour options. As for the pricing, the 32GB variant of the Galaxy A6 will set you back by Rs 21,990, whereas the 64Gb model has been priced at Rs 22,990. The Galaxy A6+ carries a price tag of Rs 25,990. The smartphones will go on sale starting tomorrow, i.e. May 22nd, and will be available to buy offline from Samsung retail stores, and online via the brand’s official e-store, Paytm Mall and Amazon.
