- Optical image stabilisation on phones helps in clicking sharper images without much noise and also eliminates shake in videos
- Samsung Galaxy A72 won’t be launching until the first quarter of 2021
- This should also increase the cost of Galaxy A72 compared to the predecessor
Samsung Galaxy A72 could be one of the first A-series phones to ship with optical image stabilisation. A new report says top models in the Galaxy A lineup would be the first to get OIS functionality. Since A71 is positioned towards the top of the A series lineup, the Samsung Galaxy A72 could end up becoming the company’s first mid-range model with OIS. Optical image stabilisation on phones helps in clicking sharper images without much noise and also eliminates shake in videos. This decision could be coming from the fact that Samsung is facing heat from the competition and the flagship market taking a hit due to the coronavirus pandemic. With flagship sales slowing down, the South Korean giant could be hoping to lure buyers to its mid-range A-series smartphones with OIS next year.
The Samsung Galaxy A72 won’t be launching until the first quarter of 2021 and other features of the handset are a mystery for now. This means the cost of Galaxy A72 could be slightly higher than the predecessor. We hope to come across more details in the next few months.
Separately, Samsung Galaxy M31s is said to launch in India later this month and will cost around Rs 20,000 for the base model. It is tipped to come with a Super AMOLED Infinity-O display, 6,000mAh battery, and 64MP quad-cameras. The handset will be available via Amazon India as well as Samsung retail platforms from August. Earlier reports have suggested it will be powered by the Exynos 9611 SoC, have 15W fast-charging support, likely to boot Android 10 OS with OneUI 2.1 custom skin on top and pack at least 6GB RAM with 64GB storage.
