“The Samsung Galaxy A8s is rumoured to be the brand’s first smartphone to feature camera hole in the display”
Samsung has been constantly in the news lately owing to the different kind of display notches it showcased at the Developer Conference 2018. Just days ahead of the conference, the company had confirmed at an event in China that it will be launching a full-screen smartphone without a notch, named Samsung Galaxy A8s. The upcoming smartphone has been subjected to a ton of rumours and speculations since then, including alleged display panels revealing the camera hole in the display. Now, a new report has revealed key Galaxy A8s specifications.
According to the latest report, the Samsung Galaxy A8s will come flaunting a 6.39-inch Infinity-O FHD+ resolution LCD display. We already know from previous leaks that the display will have a hole in the top left corner for the selfie camera. However, the actual revelation comes in the form of the information that the display panel will be sourced from the Chinese OEM display manufacturer BOE.
Further, the new leak reveals that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8s will come with the Snapdragon 710 processor ticking at its core. The chipset is further said to be accompanied by 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. We can expect the latter to be expandable using a microSD card. In the imaging department, the Samsung Galaxy A8s is reported to come with a triple camera module, with 24MP + 5MP + 10MP configuration; however, it is not clear what the functions of these lenses are as well as the aperture for each lens. The 6.7mm diameter hole in the display is tipped to be housing a 24-megapixel selfie shooter as well as the sensors. The report also reveals that the Galaxy A8s measures 59.11 x 74.88 x 7.38mm and will be powered by a 3,400mAh battery.
Unfortunately, rest of the details about the handset are not yet known, including information about its launch. It’s being speculated that we might see Samsung launching the handset in January 2019.
