The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) India launch event will be held on November 4, 91mobiles has learnt. Galaxy A9 (2018) is the world’s first smartphone with four cameras on the back, and was launched at an event in Malaysia a couple of weeks ago. This launch is scheduled for about five weeks after the launch of the triple-camera toting Galaxy A7 (2018), which made its debut in the Indian market.


Samsung is yet to make any announcement around the Galaxy A9 (2018) India launch, though it does not come as a surprise considering the market’s importance for the company. It will be launched in China with the name Galaxy A9S on October 24th. There is no information around the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) price in India yet, but we will update this space once we find out more. However, it can be expected to compete with the OnePlus 6T in terms of pricing considering its European price tag of €599 (~Rs 47,850) for the base model.

The new Galaxy A9 (2018) has the quad-camera 24MP (primary) + 10MP (telephoto) + 8MP (ultra-wide angle) + 5MP (depth) camera setup on the back, and a 24MP selfie camera. It has a 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1,080 x 2,220 pixels) Super AMOLED screen without a notch, and Android Ore-based Samsung Experience UI. It is powered by an octa-core processor of unknown make and comes with 128GB internal storage, with support for cards up to 512GB. Buyers can choose between 6GB and 8GB RAM options.

Galaxy A9 (2018) is powered by a 3,800mAh battery with fast charging support. For security, there’s the usual fingerprint scanner and face unlock. Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, and NFC with Samsung Pay support.
