Samsung has finally taken the wraps off the Galaxy A9 (2018) smartphone in India today. The handset (first impressions) was first unveiled in Malaysia last month, and now it has been brought to the country. It’s a mid-range offering from the chaebol and the first of its kind to pack four cameras on the rear, including a telephoto lens and an ultra-wide angle sensor. Other than that, the Galaxy A9 (2018) comes with Samsung’s Infinity Display design, a big battery, and up to 8GB of RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy Galaxy A9 (2018) price in India is set at Rs 36,990 for the 6GB RAM variant and Rs 39,990 for the 8GB RAM option. The handset comes in three gradient colour options: Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue, and Bubblegum Pink. The Galaxy A9 (2018) goes for sale in the country starting November 28th on Samsung’s e-commerce site and selected online and offline stores as well. It is up for pre-orders starting today and fans can place bookings via exclusive Samsung stores as well as other retail outlets, Flipkart, Amazon, Samsung Shop, and Airtel Online Store. The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) launch offers include Rs 3,000 cashback on HDFC Bank credit and debit cards.

Starting with the highlight, the four-camera module on the back of Galaxy A9 (2019) consists of a 24MP primary sensor with an aperture size of f/1.7, accompanied by a 10MP telephoto sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 2x optical zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 120-degree field of view, and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture for live focus/ bokeh. The sensors are stacked vertically at the top-right corner of the back panel with LED flash placed just below the module. As for the front camera, the phone boast of a 24-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture lens and HDR for selfies and video calling.
Moving on, the Galaxy A9 (2018) ships with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with resolution of 1,080 x 2,220 pixels and aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 6GB/ 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage, which is expandable up to 512GB using a microSD card. A 3,800mAh battery with fast-charging support fuels the handset.
Other features include Android Oreo-based Experience UX software out of the box and connectivity options like dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11, MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, and NFC with Samsung Pay support.
