“The Samsung Galaxy A40 smartphone has also received the FCC certification, pointing at an imminent launch”
The first set of Galaxy A series smartphones has hit the market, but there are a lot more on the way – Samsung has reportedly planned to launch as many as nine models in the series this year. The company has already launched the Galaxy A30 (first impressions), Galaxy A50 (first impressions), and the Galaxy A10 in India. Apart from these devices, Samsung will also be bringing the Galaxy A90, Galaxy A40, and the Galaxy A20e to the market. While we are not sure when they will go official, all three phones were recently spotted on the official Samsung UK online store. This comes days after the Galaxy A40 received FCC certification.
Although the listings are no longer available on the UK store, we now know that Samsung plans on launching these new phones very soon. The listings did not reveal any specifications as such, but we already know a little bit about all the upcoming phones. However, the listing included a Galaxy A20e device, which has never been mentioned in previous reports or rumours. It could be a less powerful variant of the standard Galaxy A20.
There have been plenty of rumours regarding the Galaxy A90, which is said to be the most expensive model in the A series line-up. A recent rumour suggested that the phone will feature a revolving rear camera setup that would also act as a front facing camera. The phone will reportedly come with a 6.4-inch display without any notch and will be powered by the Snapdragon 710 chipset. Rumours also suggest that the phone will come with up to 8GB of RAM, 128GB of onboard storage, and a large battery. It is expected to run Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, with Samsung’s One UI.
On the other hand, the Galaxy A40 is expected to be a less powerful budget phone. As mentioned earlier, this phone has received the FCC certification, which means that it could be announced very soon. As per the listing, the phone will feature a 5.7-inch display, Bluetooth 5.0 LE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac and ANT+. The phone will likely feature an Exynos 7904 chipset and the display will feature a U shaped notch. We should find out more in the next few weeks.
