“The Samsung Galaxy A90 is touted to be the most expensive smartphone in the A-series and will come with a pop-up mechanism”
Samsung has scheduled an event for April 10th, where the company is expected to launch new Galaxy A series smartphones. Rumours suggest that the event might see the launch of the Galaxy A90, which is the said to be the most expensive in the line-up and rumoured to have a pop-up camera mechanism. However, a concept creator has published a video reimagining the upcoming Galaxy A90 with a slider mechanism and rotating camera.
The video, by YouTuber Waqar Khan, shows what a sliding mechanism and rotatable camera module in action could look like on the Galaxy A90. While there are no suggestions so far that Samsung is even considering such a design, the smartphone would be one of a kind in the small but growing segment of notch-less smartphones. The smartphones with sliding mechanism that we have seen in the past – Honor Magic 2 and Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 – had two separate camera modules for the front and rear. The Samsung phone’s concept design is reminiscent of the OPPO N3 but hidden away inside the slider.
As for the other design elements, the video reveals that the Samsung Galaxy A90 will be offered in three colours, Blue, Black and Silver with a glossy finish. The smartphone is seen flaunting an all-screen bezel-less display with a slight chin and cutout for earpiece on the top. The video also shows the Galaxy A90 will have an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. As for the specifications, the smartphone is rumoured to come with a 6.4-inch full-HD+ resolution and a Snapdragon 700 series chipset. The processor is speculated to be backed by 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
As of now, this is all that is known about the upcoming smartphone and a contradicting set of renders. We will know more accurate details on April 10th when the phone will most likely be launched.
