“The Samsung Galaxy A90 is speculated to be the top-of-the line smartphone in the A-series this year”
While the Galaxy M series from Samsung has been hogging all the limelight in recent days, it’s not the only product line the company has in development. Several leaks in the past have suggested that the brand will also revamp the Galaxy A series with the launch of the Galaxy A50, Galaxy A70, and Galaxy A90 with in-display fingerprint sensors in 2019. A new leak has now revealed few alleged details of the Galaxy A90.
According to a new report by SamMobile, the Galaxy A90 carries model number SM A905F. The leak suggests the Galaxy A90 will come with 128GB storage as default, with 6GB and 8GB RAM options being speculated. The smartphone is also expected to feature a display notch. However, it is still not known whether Samsung will use the Infinity-O or Infinity-V screen on the Galaxy A series. Unfortunately, this is all that is known at this point.
Samsung is said to have decided to offer the smartphone in three colour options – black, silver, and gold. It’s being speculated that the brand might add more options to the list later on and that some of these might flaunt a gradient hue.
A previous report had speculated that Samsung might launch as many as nine Galaxy A smartphones in 2019. However, only the Galaxy A50, Galaxy A70, and Galaxy A90 will feature the (optical) in-display fingerprint scanner, while the other models will have to contend with side- or rear-mounted sensors. According to the report, some of the Galaxy A-series will likely feature 3D ToF cameras.
These leaks show a concerted effort by Samsung to bring premium features at a more affordable price point, something it has reserved for its flagship products till now. We will have to wait and see how the year 2019 turns out for the brand.
