“The Samsung Galaxy Fold price remained unchanged at $1980 and will be available for purchase through AT&T and T-Mobile carriers”
Samsung Galaxy Fold was recently reported to re-launch sometime in September. Now, in-line with the speculation, the handset seems to be gearing up for pre-registrations in the US as the official Samsung website listed the foldable phone for users to join the waitlist. The price of the Galaxy Fold remained unchanged at $1,980 and will be available for purchase through AT&T and T-Mobile carriers in Gold Hinge, Dark Silver Hinge, and Black Hinge colour options. However, there’s still no exact launch date yet.
Since the South Korea launch is reported to be on September 6th, the pre-registrations in the US should open in the next few days. It’s unlikely that Samsung would delay the rumoured September 27th US launch if it believes the Galaxy Fold is ready to be on sale as it would want to stay in the race for when the next-generation iPhones hit the stores. To jog your memory, Samsung recalled the Galaxy Fold after the initial batch that was handed over to reviewers failed miserably with cracked screens.
Reports suggest that Samsung has taken additional measures to make the protective layer unremovable and also to protect the handset from dust better. The hinge on the top and bottom is also said to be strengthened. The Samsung Galaxy Fold packs a 7.3-inch dynamic AMOLED display with 1,536 x 2,152 pixels resolution. There’s also a 4.6-inch, Super AMOLED 21:9 display on the outside. The handset is powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC and runs on Android 9.0 Pie with customised One UI on top.
