“The Galaxy Home features six speakers and a subwoofer to offer high-quality sound”
Samsung’s Unpacked event in New York today was centred around the launch of the company’s latest Galaxy Note9 smartphone. However, the company also ended up announcing its oft-rumoured Galaxy Home smart speaker at the gathering. Notably, the new smart speaker from the brand comes with support for its voice-activated digital assistant Bixby.
As the new speaker features support for the brand’s digital assistant, it can be activated by simply saying “Hi Bixby”. The Galaxy Home will sport eight microphones that allow for far-field voice recognition. Essentially, you will be able to give voice commands from across the room and the smart speaker will be able to pick them up with ease.
The Galaxy Home comes with a flat top, which features the music control buttons, much like some of the other smart speakers in the market. The device packs in six speakers and a subwoofer to offer a high-quality sound output.
Unfortunately, the company has not shared many details about the speaker just yet. The information regarding its exact specifications, pricing, as well as availability, is still unclear at the moment.
The new smart speaker from Samsung joins a segment that is already quite competitive right now. Amazon’s Echo lineup of speakers, Google Home, and Apple’s HomePod will pose a solid challenge to the Galaxy Home once it arrives on the scene.
