A couple of weeks ago, Samsung started rolling out the Android 8.1 Oreo update for the Galaxy J5 (2017) smartphone across the globe. Now, the company has released the same firmware update for yet another smartphone in the series, called the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro. The update is available for all users of the device in India.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro Android Oreo update brings a number of big and small changes. After the upgrading to the new firmware, you will find a new picture-in-picture multitasking, autofill support, and advanced app shortcuts. In addition, the update brings full support for Samsung Pay, an updated Samsung keyboard with a number of new emojis and high-contrast themes, and more. You can also expect the new firmware to offer improved and smoother performance.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro’s Android Oreo update is being rolled out over the air. You can update your smartphone by going to the Settings app, tap Software update, and then click Download updates manually.
Speaking the Galaxy J7 Pro specifications, it ships with an always-on 5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7870 processor. The processor of the handset has been clocked at 1.6GHz and mated to 3GB of RAM. There is 64GB storage onboard, which can be further expanded by inserting a microSD card. In the imaging department, the phone gets 13-megapixel cameras on both the front and back. A beefy 3,600mAh battery completes the spec sheet of the device.
