Samsung Galaxy M36 specifications appear on Geekbench: Exynos SoC, Android 15, and more

Samsung Galaxy M35 5G could soon get a successor, likely called the Samsung Galaxy M36 5G. Like the former, this could be a lower midrange phone. And the upcoming phone has started surfacing on various platforms, including the benchmarking site, Geekbench, with model number SM-M366B. Here’s how this model is linked to the Samsung Galaxy M36 name and what to expect from the upcoming phone.

Samsung Galaxy M36 5G Geekbench details

  • Tech publication XpertPick has spotted the Samsung SM-M366B on Geekbench. For reference, the Samsung Galaxy M35 5G has the model number SM-M356B.

  • The Galaxy phone has 1004 points on the single-core test and 2886 points on the multi-core test.
  • The underlying chip carries the model number S5E8835, commonly known as the Exynos 1380. Android Authority has also identified the code siop_m36x_s5e8835, which corroborates the connection between the phone and the chip.
  • Meanwhile, the Geekbench listing shows the Exynos 1380 setup, which is four performance cores at 2.40GHz and four efficiency cores running at 2.0GHz clock speed. Exynos 1380 is fabricated on Samsung’s own 5nm process node and supports a built-in NPU for AI tasks, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
  • The Geekbench result reveals the Mali G68 GPU. This one could be running at 949 MHz.
  • Moreover, the tested model has 6GB of RAM and Android 15 software.
  • Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy M35 (review) also has the same chipset. The phone perhaps has other optimisations as part of the upgrade.

Samsung Galaxy M36 5G: what else we expect

  • The Galaxy M35 5G launched in May 2024, and so, the successor could come around the same time. 
  • The M-series is expected to be Amazon-exclusive, and a dedicated microsite could go live on the e-commerce platform ahead of the launch.
  • The test firmware for the phone’s South Korean variant suggests the SM-M366K model number, and its marketing name could be Samsung Galaxy Jump 4.
  • Considering recent Samsung phones have shipped with One UI 7 out of the box, we expect to see the same here.
