It is touted to be the first 5G-enabled phone in the company’s Galaxy M series. The handset is already listed on the Samsung India website and bagged BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification as well. Samsung Galaxy M42 specs may include the Snapdragon 750G SoC, 64MP camera, an AMOLED display, and a 6,000mAh battery. Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is said to a rebrand of the Galaxy A42 5G. If that’s the case, the handset will have a 6.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U waterdrop notch display and be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC. The Galaxy A42 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support. However, the Galaxy M42 5G is expected to come with a bigger 6,000mAh battery. The phone is likely to run on Android 11 OS with OneUI custom skin out of the box. The Galaxy A42 measures 75.9mm x 164.4mm x 8.6mm and weighs 190 grams.

The Samsung Galaxy A42 has quad-cameras at the back with a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 5MP macro lens. It has a 20MP selfie snapper and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.
