Upcoming mobile phones expected in India in August 2019: Samsung Galaxy Note 10, Vivo S1, and more

Plenty of new smartphones are going to grace our shores in the month of August. From flagship devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 to budget-oriented phones like the Xiaomi Mi A3 series, Samsung Galaxy M30s, and more are expected to launch in the next month in the country. So if you are looking to purchase a new phone, here’s a list of the top upcoming smartphones launching in India in August 2019. 

Samsung Galaxy Note 10

The Galaxy Note 9 successor is almost upon us. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will be unveiled globally on August 7th and should go on sale in the next weeks. The Note 10 is said to come with a hole-punch display with a centrally-located front camera, and is rumoured to come powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus or Exynos 9825 chipset, depending upon the region. The phone is tipped to feature a 6.28-inch display, a triple-camera setup at the back, 12GB RAM, and a 3,200mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.

Vivo S1

The Vivo S1 India launch is also set for the month of August. It’ll feature a 6.38-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is equipped with the MediaTek Helio P65 chipset, which will be coupled with up to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The device will feature a triple rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX499 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth unit. A 32-megapixel selfie camera will also be available along with a 4,500mAh battery.

Huawei Y9 Prime 2019

Huawei’s latest mid-range offering, the Y9 Prime’s launch in India is set to be on August 1st. The handset will be fuelled by the Kirin 710 processor and comes with a 6.59-inch FHD+ display. The phone will have 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. For cameras, there’s a 16-megapixel primary sensor coupled with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Selfies will be taken care of by a 16-megapixel camera mounted on to a pop-up mechanism. The phone will ship with a 4,000mAh battery. 

Samsung Galaxy M30s

The Galaxy M30s is an upcoming mid-range smartphone from Samsung. It will reportedly feature an Exynos 9610 chipset, an Infinity V display, Android 9.0 Pie-based Samsung One UI, 4GB RAM, and a massive 5,000mAh battery. A lot of the details of the Galaxy M30s are still unknown, but all should be revealed in the next few weeks, if rumours are to be believed. 

Honor 9X

The Honor 9X is another smartphone that will feature a 16-megapixel pop-up camera. It is powered by the Kirin 810 processor, coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone comes with a 6.59-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and a 4,000mAh battery. The Honor 9X will come with a dual rear camera setup with a primary 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor, which is paired with a 2-megapixel depth unit. Interestingly, just like the Honor 20 (review) and 20 Pro, the fingerprint sensor is mounted on the side of the phone. 

Xiaomi Mi A3 and A3 Lite

The Xiaomi Mi A3 is the latest budget Android One-toting offerings from the company. The Mi A3 will come with a 6.08-inch AMOLED HD+ display and is powered by the Snapdragon 665 chipset. It will feature a trio of sensors on the back, consisting of a primary 48-megapixel Sony shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth unit. For selfies, a 32-megapixel cameras is available up front. It will come with a 4,035mAh battery with fast charging support.

The Mi A3 Lite on the other hand, is expected to an affordable variant of the Mi A3. However, it’s yet to go official, so it remains to be seen if it’ll indeed be making its way to the subcontinent. 

ASUS ROG Phone 2

ASUS has launched its ROG Phone 2, which is speculated to make its way to India in August. The phone is the first phone in the world to draw power from the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and gets a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It gets up to 12GB RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. There’s a dual-camera setup on the back with a 48-megapixel main sensor and a 13-megapixel secondary unit. For selfies, the handset sports a 24-megapixel snapper. The phone gets a massive 6,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging and has several unique gaming features.

LG W30 Pro

LG has already launched the W series in India, but the W30 Pro launch date is expected to be in August. Not much is known about the phone, but we do know that it’ll be powered by the Snapdragon 632 processor and come with 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. It will also have a 4,000mAh battery and Android 9 on board. The display size isn’t known, but it will feature a tiny notch for the selfie camera, just like its sibling, the W30 (first impressions).
