Samsung Galaxy Ring is expected to launch in July at the rumoured Galaxy Unpacked event. It’s the first-of-its-kind device from Samsung which was showcased for the first time at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. We have now spotted the Galaxy Ring on the Bluetooth SIG certification site with a new model number. This would be the ninth Galaxy Ring model suggesting the smart ring will come in nine different sizes.
Samsung Galaxy Ring spotted on Bluetooth SIG
- The Samsung Galaxy Ring was earlier leaked with eight model numbers, which are believed to denote the different ring sizes.
- The Bluetooth SIG listing mentions the Galaxy Ring with the model number SM-Q503. This particular one was missing from the list of Galaxy Ring model numbers.
- Based on this speculation, we can expect the Galaxy Ring to launch in at least nine different sizes for users. The listing also confirms the Galaxy Ring will come with Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless connectivity.
- This is a wearable device, so it will connect to your smartphone where you’ll be able to check the data and records collected by the Galaxy Ring.
- Since the Bluetooth SIG (Special Interest Group) trademarks and licenses devices with Bluetooth technology, it’s a mandatory step and one that suggests an imminent launch.
What is the Galaxy Ring?
As the name suggests, the Galaxy Ring is like a normal ring that you can wear but it comes with features to help track your health and fitness. Samsung hasn’t revealed the features of the smart ring yet but we’re expecting it to be used to track your sleep and monitor heart rate, breathing rate, and night movements. While you can already get these features with a smartwatch or fitness band, a smart ring might be more comfortable to wear while you’re sleeping.
Like the other smart rings, the Galaxy Ring is also expected to be offered in different sizes with the larger-sized ones offering longer battery life. This hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. The Galaxy Ring is also tipped to come in three colour options: Ceramic Black, Platinum Silver, and Gold.
The Galaxy Unpacked event is rumoured to take place on July 26th in Paris. The Galaxy Ring is expected to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Watch 7 series.
