Following the tradition of launching Olympic editions of its flagships, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition. Announced in Prism White colour, the new option gets the Tokyo 2020 games logo on the back and a special Galaxy Buds truly wireless earbuds bundled. Notably, only 10,000 units of the Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition will be available starting late July, priced at JPY 1,14,696 (around Rs 74,000). It will be exclusive to Docomo telecom network in Japan.
To recall, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ sports a 6.4-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED curved HDR10+ display with 1,440 x 3,040 pixels resolution, and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 layer. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor with Adreno 640 GPU coupled with up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB onboard storage that is user expandable. The handset boots Android 9.0 Pie with One UI skin on top and has an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometric security.
As for the optics, the Galaxy S10+ rocks triple rear camera consisting a 12MP wide-angle main sensor with autofocus and variable aperture – f/1.5 and f/2.4, a 12MP autofocus telephoto lens and an ultra-wide 16MP fixed-focus sensor. The smartphone feature up to 2X optical zoom and up to 10X digital zoom. For selfies, the Galaxy S10+ sports 10MP 80-degree wide-angle lens + 8MP fixed-focus f/2.2 sensor for depth sensing. The handset is IP68 rated for water- and dust-resistance, packs Stereo speakers tuned by AKG, and Dolby Atmos support. A 4,100mAh battery with fast charging support fuels the phone. Connectivity options include dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5, GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, and NFC.
