Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra live image leaked; NBTC certification confirms name

Samsung Galaxy S20 series launch event will be held on February 11th, where Samsung is expected to unveil three smartphones and a foldable smartphone. Ahead of that, a live image of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, which will be the premium flagship offering from the brand, has been leaked. The leaked image, shared by renowned tipster @IceUniverse, is in line with the previous leaks and rumours and confirms that the Galaxy S20 Ultra will brace 100x Space Zoom lens. The Galaxy S20 Ultra, as can be seen from the image, sports bulbous quad-camera setup at the back. The setup can be seen with ‘100x Space Zoom’ etched next to what looks like a periscope-style camera. We don’t have the front image of the Galaxy S20 Ultra yet, but it’s all but confirmed to pack an Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED display with a centred punch-hole display.

Separately, the name of the Galaxy S20 Ultra has also been confirmed via Thailand’s certification authority NBTC. The database has also confirmed that the handset will have a 5G variant, dubbed as Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, and SM-G998B/DS model number where ‘DS’ stands for dual SIM.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra price, specifications

The Galaxy S20 Ultra price has been tipped to start at EUR 1,349 (about Rs 1,06,000) for the base 5G variant, which is said to pack either 128GB/ 256GB storage. The phone’s 512GB variant price, on the other hand, will reportedly be set at EUR 1,549 (roughly Rs 1,22,000).

Coming to the specifications, the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G has been tipped to sport a 6.9-inch Infinity-O AMOLED display with 1,440×3,200 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, and 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will be powered by the Exynos 990/ Snapdragon 865 SoC (depending on the market), backed by up to 16GB RAM. For photography, the Galaxy S20 Ultra is likely to sport quad-camera setup with 108MP primary sensor, a 48MP telephoto lens, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 3D ToF sensor, and a periscope lens with 10x optical and 100x digital zoom. The front camera of the phone will reportedly sport 40MP sensor for selfies and video calling.

The phone is rumoured to house a large 5,000mAh battery with fast charging and run Android 10-based One UI 2.0 skin. Other features may include IP68 water- and dust-resistance rating, wireless charging support, and ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.
