Samsung Galaxy S20 series is confirmed to launch on February 11th, and we got a bunch of new reports on the flagship phones this week. After providing live images of the Galaxy S20+, XDA-Developer’s Max Weinbach has now detailed some key specifications of the souped up Galaxy S20 Ultra. The ‘Ultra’ Galaxy S20 model is said to come with a whopping 16GB of RAM. Coincidentally, Xiaomi’s Black Shark 3 is also expected to come with 16GB RAM onboard. Unless Xiaomi makes a surprise announcement in the next couple of weeks, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is on course be the first smartphone in the world to offer 16GB RAM. Additionally, the Galaxy S20 Ultra will come with a 108MP camera, 5,000mAh battery and 45W fast charging support, among other things.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra will come in three storage options — 128GB, 256GB and 512GB – and a microSD card slot to expand up to 1TB. The base model of the smartphone will come with 12GB of RAM. This will be paired with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC and 5G connectivity. Moving to the optics, the Galaxy S20 Ultra will have a 108MP primary sensor, as reported previously, a 48MP telephoto lens with 10X optical zoom and 100x hybrid zoom feature, and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The flagship will house a massive 5,000mAh battery and support 45W fast charge.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus

Separately, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is said to pack quad-rear cameras at the back that will include a 12MP 1.8μm Sony IMX555 sensor, a 64MP high resolution primary sensor, and a Samsung ISOCELL third camera. However, we don’t know the details regarding the fourth sensor, but it could be a macro lens. The front camera is said to be a 10MP Sony IMX374 sensor. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus will have the ability to record 8K videos at 30fps. Apart from this, it can record in 4K 60fps with OIS and EIS for both front and rear cameras.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus camera features will include the zoom-in mic feature from the Galaxy Note 10 to the S series, a ‘Smart selfie angle’ that would detect the number of users in the frame and switch to wide-angle mode on the selfie camera, a ‘Single Take’ feature that will pan the phone around the environment as it takes pictures and videos, among others. This mode works for selfies as well. It is said to come with Pro mode for video recording to control lighting, white balance, and other settings. The Galaxy S20 Plus will have a dedicated microphone for better audio in videos and LED flash from the Galaxy S10.
