Samsung Galaxy S21 price, launch details

Tech Blog TechQuila, citing a person familiar with the development, reports that Samsung Galaxy S21 launch in India will be a few weeks after the global launch, which is speculated for January 14th. This means that smartphones could break cover in the country by January-end. The report also adds that Samsung has started taking “exclusive blind pre-orders” for the Galaxy S21 series in India. Interested buyers can reportedly pre-book the smartphone from Samsung Opera House in Bengaluru at an upfront amount of Rs 2,000. Select buyers will get the Samsung Galaxy S21 series on the day of the India launch.

As for the Samsung Galaxy S21 series price in India, it’s tipped to be the same as its predecessor Galaxy S20. Samsung Galaxy S20, to recall, was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 66,999. The Samsung Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra were priced at Rs 73,999 and Rs 92,999 respectively.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series specifications

Samsung Galaxy S21 series is expected to come with a punch-hole design, 120Hz displays, 5G connectivity, and Snapdragon 888/ Exynos 2100 chipset. Tipster Ice Universe claims that the lineup will also come with a new ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that would be 1.77 times bigger, with a total scanning area of 64mm, and twice as fast as the fingerprint sensor available on the Galaxy S20 models.

The vanilla Samsung Galaxy S21 will be the smallest of them all, with a rumoured screen size of 6.2-inch that is likely to come with FHD+ resolution. The phone will reportedly pack triple camera setup, comprising a 12MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 64MP telephoto shooter, in a bronze-coloured frame that extends to the side. The handset could be driven by a 4,000mAh battery and come in four colour options, namely Phantom Voilet, Phantom Pink, Phantom White, and Phantom Gray.

The Samsung Galaxy S21+ is said to employ a larger 6.7-inch LTPS FHD+ AMOLED panel clocked at 120Hz and a bigger 4,800mAh battery compared to its sibling, while the camera setup could be identical to that of the Galaxy S21. Samsung may offer the Galaxy 21+ in three colours: Phantom Silver, Phantom Black, and Phantom Violet.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is tipped to pack a huge 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with WQHD+ resolution and 5,000mAh battery. The phone may sport a quad-camera setup at the back consisting of a 108MP ISOCELL HM3 primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom and another telephoto lens with 10X zoom.
