Samsung Galaxy S22 series will succeed Galaxy S21 from earlier this year. Recent leaks have revealed quite a few details about the upcoming flagship series, such as the display sizes. Now, in the latest leak, the Samsung Galaxy S22 camera specifications have surfaced online. While the Galaxy S21 series didn’t offer a significant improvement over the Galaxy S20, the Galaxy S22 will bring sizeable upgrades in the camera department, which could mean a slightly higher price tag as well. Speculations are rife the Samsung Galaxy S22 series will break covers in early 2022, similar to the Galaxy S21.

According to tipster @FrontTron, the Samsung Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ will have a triple-camera setup, with a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens with 3X optical zoom. However, the tweet asks fans to take this information with a pinch of salt, for now. Details regarding the camera sensors’ model numbers and whether Samsung is using ISOCELL sensors or Sony’s IMX lens.

In comparison, the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+ feature a 12MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 64MP telephoto camera with 3X digital zoom. The Samsung Galaxy S22 may offer a larger 1/1.28-inch or 1/1.12-inch and the 50MP sensor should help for brighter and sharper images. Additionally, replacing the Galaxy S21’s 64MP camera with a 12MP proper telephoto lens should offer greater details at native zoom levels.

An earlier leak suggested the Samsung Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra will sport 6.06-inch, 6.55-inch, and 6.81-inch screens, respectively. While Naver reported the phones would arrive with 6.1-inch, 6.5-inch, and 6.8-inch displays, respectively. While the leak cannot be verified, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ will have slightly smaller display sizes compared to the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus that have 6.2-inch and 6.7-inch. The Galaxy S22 Ultra retains the same 6.8-inch screen size.
