At the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, Samsung officially teased the long-rumoured slim phone, which it calls the Galaxy S25 Edge and not the Galaxy S25 Slim, as rumours would earlier have us believe. The ‘Edge’ branding makes a return after it was last used for the Galaxy S7 Edge in 2016. The company showcased the phone on the sidelines of the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra launch. True to its nature, the Galaxy S25 Edge is quite slim compared to other S25 models. Here’s everything about the new slim phone from Samsung.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge design
- Samsung hasn’t allowed anyone to get near the device or have a hands-on experience but the demo unit which was suspended in thin air along with two blocks of metal demonstrates how thin and light the phone is going to be.
- The new slim phone from Samsung has dual-rear cameras along with an LED flash module placed in what looks like an oval-shaped layout on the back. The volume rocker and power button are seen on the right spine.
- We could only see the phone in silver/grey colour and it has a boxy chassis and rounded edges. The frame of the phone is quite slim. Rumours point at 6.4mm thickness.
- In comparison, the regular Galaxy S25 measures 7.2mm in thickness and the Galaxy S24 measures 7.6mm. Rumours claim the iPhone 17 Slim could measure 5.5mm at its thinnest point.
- Samsung hasn’t given out the hardware details of the phone yet but is expected to arrive in May, ahead of the rumoured iPhone 17 Slim/Air.
- The region-specific availability details of the Galaxy S25 Edge are not revealed at the moment but it will be available initially in the US and South Korea markets, as per Android Authority.
