Samsung Galaxy S25 FE will launch next year as the brand’s successor to the Galaxy S24 FE that made its debut recently. New details have emerged online, revealing key information about the Galaxy S25 FE. The smartphone is tipped to feature a MediaTek chipset and launch as a ‘Slim’ model, per a report by The Elec. This suggests that the FE model could be slimmer in design than the flagship Galaxy S25 series. Also, to recall, the Galaxy S24 FE was powered by an Exynos chipset, so it appears Samsung is moving away from its branded processors for the next Galaxy FE phone.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE key details leaked
- Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy S25 FE with a slim form factor. It will feature the same 6.7-inch display like the Galaxy S24 FE, according to a report by The Elec.
- The report adds that Samsung might make the battery thinner while increasing the surface area.
- The Galaxy S25 FE is also tipped to feature a MediaTek chipset, while the flagship models get the Snapdragon chipset.
- There were reports of Samsung possibly shifting to MediaTek for the Galaxy S25 series but it looks like only the FE model will get it.
- This means that we could see the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset on the Galaxy S25 FE.
The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to launch around Q3 next year so we still have a long time before this phone debuts. It’s interesting though to see that the FE model might bring a change with the slim design. Apple is also rumoured to launch an iPhone 17 Air or Slim next year.
How well does the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 fare?
Many flagship and premium handsets are powered by the Dimensity 9400 in 2025, such as the OPPO Find X8 series and Vivo X200 series. To give a reference, in our testing of the Vivo X200, the Dimensity 9400 scored 25,37,181 on AnTuTu, while in Geekbench the phone delivered scores of 2,683 and 7,767 in single and multi-core tests, respectively. These scores are on par with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, present on the Galaxy S25 series.
The Galaxy S24 FE launched just last month at a starting price of Rs 59,999. It’s powered by the Exynos 2400e processor and features a 50MP primary camera and a 4,700mAh battery. It looks just like the Galaxy S24 and even comes with the same Galaxy AI features.
