Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is expected to launch as the fifth model in the Galaxy S25 lineup after the Galaxy S25 Edge. It would succeed the Galaxy S24 FE, which launched in India last October. 91mobiles has now spotted a new Samsung smartphone on Geekbench, which could be the Galaxy S25 FE, and it looks like the phone will get the same chipset as its predecessor.
Like the Galaxy S24 FE, the new model is also expected to be offered as an affordable alternative to the flagship Galaxy S25 lineup.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Geekbench details
- A new Samsung smartphone bearing the model number SM-S731U has been spotted on the benchmarking platform, Geekbench.
- The Geekbench listing gives us an idea on what to expect from the upcoming phone but do note that isn’t the final result as the phone hasn’t been launched yet.
- While the official name hasn’t been confirmed, the model number suggests it could be the Galaxy S25 FE. For context, its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 FE, carried the model number SM-S721U.
- The Galaxy S25 FE has scored 2064 single-core and 6899 multi-core points on Geekbench.
- The Geekbench listing reveals key specifications, including Android 16, 8GB of RAM, and a deca-core processor. The CPU configuration includes four cores clocked at 1.96GHz, three at 2.00GHz, two at 2.90GHz, and one high-performance core at 3.21GHz.
- The chipset is paired with the Samsung Xclipse 940 GPU, indicating it might be the Exynos 2400, the same processor found in the Galaxy S24 series, including the Galaxy S24 FE.
- This corroborates a recent report that the Galaxy S25 FE will use the same chipset as its predecessor. However, another report suggests that the handset will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, though we haven’t seen any evidence of this yet.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE: what to expect
The Galaxy S25 FE will reportedly feature an upgraded selfie camera. The Galaxy S25 FE will come with a 12MP selfie camera, according to Dutch publication Galaxy Club. It would be a notable upgrade from the Galaxy S24 FE, which has a 10MP selfie camera. The report adds that with this upgraded camera, Galaxy S25 FE users will get significantly better selfies than from the Galaxy S24 FE.
As for the primary camera on the Galaxy S25 FE, Samsung will continue with a 50MP sensor like the Galaxy S23 FE and S24 FE. Rest of the camera details aren’t known yet but if they remain unchanged then we can expect a 12MP ultra-wide and an 8MP telephoto lens.
