Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge to directly receive Android Nougat 7.1.1 update

“Samsung might skip the Android 7.0 update and directly bring Android 7.1.1 to the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge” Samsung owners who have been waiting anxiously for the Galaxy S7 (review) and S7 Edge (review) to receive an Android Nougat update might have to wait a little while more. However, the news also comes with a silver lining as Samsung might skip the Android 7.0 update and directly bring Android 7.1.1 to the aforementioned smartphones.

Bear in mind that besides the Pixel smartphones and a select bunch of Nexus devices from Google, no other vendor is currently providing users with Android 7.1.1.
