Samsung reportedly testing Live Photos-like feature for the Galaxy S7

“Unlike Live Photos, this feature will not capture sound along with the image”

Apple last year in September launched the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus with a new feature called Live Photos, which captures 1.5 seconds of audio and video before and after a picture is captured. Now it appears that Samsung wants to follow suit too. According to a report by Android Geeks, the company is testing a Live Photos-like feature that will debut with the Galaxy S7 later this year.

Unlike Live Photos, this feature will not capture sound with the image. It will enable users to share the resultant pictures on social networks in the form of gif images. In related news, Samsung is tipped to launch three variants of the Galaxy S7. Apart from the regular Galaxy S7, the brand will also be releasing the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge+. The phone is expected to be released at the company’s Unpacked event before MWC in February this year.  Via
