“Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ and Note 9 users are getting the latest Android Pie update of around 150MB, including the security patch for January 2019.”
Indian customers have started receiving Android Pie update for the Galaxy S9, S9+ and Note 9. The update is also available in South Korea for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9. All the mentioned devices are getting the update for both beta and non-beta users in South Korea, while in India, the update is based on the One UI. It also includes the latest Android Security patch for January 2019 and gets all the list of changes done in the part of Samsung owned One UI.
The software update comes weeks after One UI was introduced on beta build-based Android Pie for the Galaxy S9 series in Germany. The experience was brought to Germany-based Galaxy S9+ and later in the Galaxy Note 9. However, in South Korea, the update has only been received for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9.
In India, the Android Pie update with One UI for the Samsung Galaxy S9 brings the version ‘G960FOXM2CRLO’ (the same for the Galaxy S9+). Whereas, for the Galaxy Note 9, the update carries the version ‘N960FXXU2CSA2′. Besides these, for the Galaxy S9 in South Korea, the updated version will be ‘G96xNKSU1CRLL’ or ‘G96xNKSU1CRLN’, based on the network. For the Galaxy Note 9, the update comes with the version ‘N960NKSU2CSA1′.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 users on Oreo in India might have to wait a little longer to get this update and the entire package will come at around 1.6GB. However, for the users of the One UI beta, the Galaxy S9 and Note 9 package will be around 150MB. To download the updated package manually on the devices, the users have to go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Alternatively, they can also download the whole firmware file for the individual country from the official website of Samsung.
