“The Samsung Galaxy Star 2 Plus has a 4.3-inch display, 4.4 KitKat and a dual-core processor”
It looks like Samsung is all set to launch a new entry-level Android smartphone in the Indian market. The company has listed the Galaxy Star 2 Plus smartphone on its official e-store for Rs 7,335, but there is no word on availability as of now. It is an entry-level device running Android 4.4 KitKat, and will compete against the likes of the Moto E, Micromax Unite 2 and Spice Stellar 497.
The Samsung Galaxy Star 2 Plus features a 4.3-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, paired with 512MB of RAM. It offers 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable using a microSD card. Camera wise, it offers a 3MP rear shooter accompanied by LED flash, but lacks a front camera. Connectivity features include dual-SIM slots, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The battery capacity under the hood is an 1,800mAh unit. It will be available in black and white colour options.
Earlier this month, the Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom reported that the Samsung Galaxy Star Advance smartphone will be launching soon with Android 4.4 KitKat for Rs 7,299. The Galaxy Star Advance appears to be similar to the Galaxy Star 2 Plus, in terms of design and specifications. It’s also possible that the Galaxy Star 2 Plus could be the official name for the Galaxy Star Advance in India.
Earlier this month, the company launched the Samsung Galaxy Core 2 with Android 4.4 KitKat, a quad-core CPU and 4.5-inch display for Rs 11,900.
