A week after introducing the Galaxy Tab A 10.5″  in New York, Samsung has gone ahead and launched the tablet in India, today. It’s a mid-range slate with features like a big display, large battery, quad speakers, smart things, and kids mode. Moreover, the Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ is touted as a “non-stop entertainment” unit and comes with LTE support for round the clock connectivity anytime, anywhere.

As for the specifications, the new Tab A features a 10.5-inch display with 76.3 percent screen to body ratio and slimmer bezels than its predecessor Galaxy Tab A 8.0. It is equipped with four cameras all fine-tuned by Dolby Atmos to give users a 3D surround sound, as per Samsung. The tablet houses a 7,300mAh battery that is expected to last up to 14 hours on video playback.

One of the key highlights of the Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ is that it comes with kids mode that gives control to parents to manage content and usage time for their children. It also features SmartThings, which is a connectivity tool to manage the smart home appliances with just a touch.

Under the hood, the tablet is powered by a Snapdragon 450 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB expandable storage. It operates on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and features Samsung’s Always-on-daily board to give you the information you need. For shutterbugs, the Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ features an 8MP sensor on the rear with Flash and a 3MP sensor on the front for selfies and video calling.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5″ price in India is set at Rs 29,990. It goes on sale from August 13, in Ebony Black and Urban Blue colour options. The tablet can be purchased from all leading retail outlets as well as on Samsung Online Shop and Flipkart. Consumers can pre-order the tab from August 9 and avail the launch offers with every purchase.
