Samsung offers tablets across a wide price range, from budget-friendly options to premium devices with some even crossing the Rs 1 lakh mark. While the next flagship lineup, the Galaxy Tab S11 series, is expected to launch soon, an older model might be making a comeback. According to recent leaks, Samsung is working on the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, reviving the ‘Lite’ series after a five-year hiatus. The last Lite-branded model was the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, launched in 2020. In 2021, Samsung replaced the Lite variant with the Galaxy Tab S7 FE.
Recent leaks suggest Samsung is working on the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. Now, fresh speculation has emerged after 91mobiles spotted the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite on the FCC certification website, indicating its possible return.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite carries the model number SM-X400 (Wi-Fi) variant on the US FCC database. The same model number was spotted by XpertPick on the Energy Star certification platform, and is believed to be of the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. For those unaware, the FCC certification is mandatory for electronic devices launching in the US. The FCC listing is also a strong indication that the device is launching soon in the country. There’s mention of an S Pen in the listing confirming that the tablet will come with support for the S Pen. Samsung bundled the S Pen with the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite so we can expect with the Tab S10 Lite as well.
The FCC listing also reveals a key detail about the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, which is its battery capacity. Not explicitly but the battery model mentioned here is the same as the Galaxy Tab S10 FE. So this means that the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite could also launch with an 8,000mAh battery. While this is a decent number, other tablets in the market like the Redmi Pad 2 and the OPPO Pad SE (both priced Rs 13,999) offer 9,000+ batteries. We should still wait for the official details to draw better comparisons.
The tablet also supports 45W as per the listing. This is also the same as the Galaxy Tab S10 FE.
This isn’t the first that we’re hearing about the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite. Earlier reports suggest that the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite could be powered by the Exynos 1380 SoC. This is Samsung’s in-house octa-core chipset with a peak clock speed of 2.4 GHz. The same chipset is also used on Samsung’s mid-range phones including the Galaxy A54 and the recently launched Galaxy M36. The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite is also expected to ship with 6GB RAM, and run Android 15-based One UI 7.0.
We should know more about the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite soon with its launch expected to take place later this year possibly alongside the Galaxy Tab S11 series.
