Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series has been officially launched at the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event alongside the Galaxy S22 series. The lineup comprises the standard Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra and they come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 45W fast charging support. The Tab S8 Ultra is the first Ultra tablet in the series and it comes with an iPhone-like notch on the top to accommodate the dual selfie cameras. Samsung is also bundling an S Pen in the box. The Galaxy Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra have an in-display fingerprint sensor, while the Tab S8 has a side-mounted sensor. There are quad-speakers with AKG sound and Dolby Atmos support.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series prices, availability

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 price starts from USD 699 (approx Rs 52,000) in the US. The Galaxy Tab S8+ is priced at USD 899 (approx Rs 67,000), while the Tab S8 Ultra comes in at USD 1,099 (approx Rs 82,000). The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series will be up for pre-order from February 9th, with sales commencing from February 25th in select markets, including the US, Europe, and Korea.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series specifications

Display: The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 sports an 11-inch WQXGA LCD TFT display with 2560 X 1600 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 276 PPI.

The Galaxy Tab S8+ flaunts a 12.4-inch WQXGA Super AMOLED display with 2,800×1,752 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and 268 PPI.

Lastly, the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra will have a large 14.6-inch WQXGA Super AMOLED display with 2,960×1,848 pixels resolution, 240 PPI, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Chipset: The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series (all three models) is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset paired with Adreno 730 GPU for graphics. The Tab S8 and Tab S8+ come in two models: 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB versions. While the Tab S8 Ultra comes in 8GB/128GB, 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB model. The tablets boot Android 12 based OneUI 4.0 custom skin out of the box.

Cameras: The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra feature dual cameras on the back, with a 13MP primary sensor and a 6MP ultra-wide-angle lens. There dual-LED flash.

On the front, the Tab S8 and Tab S8+ have a single 12MP wide snapper for selfies and video chats. While the Tab S8 Ultra gets an additional 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

Connectivity: Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS+GLONASS, and USB Type-C 3.2 port.

Battery: The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+, and Tab S8 Ultra pack 8,000mAh, 10,090mAh, and 11,200mAh battery capacities, respectively. They have up to 45W fast charging support but the company is not bundling the adapter in the box.

Other features: The tablets come with support for S Pen in the box, three microphones, quad-speakers with AKG sound and Dolby Atmos, and Knox. While the Galaxy Tab S8 comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, the Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra have an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

The Tab S8 measures 165.3mm X 253.8 X 6.3mm and weighs 503 grams (507 grams 5G). The Tab S8+ comes in at 185mm X 285 X 5.7mm and weighs 567 grams (572 grams 5G). Lastly, the Tab S8 Ultra measures 208.6mm X 326.4 X 5.5mm and weighs 726 grams (728 grams 5G).
