Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Buds Live TWS earbuds have been announced at the Unpacked 2020 event. The smartwatch will succeed the original Galaxy Watch and has a Super AMOLED display with rotating bezel for navigation. There are two crowns at the right spine and a physical button in between. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 is available in two variants — 41mm and 45mm with narrow bezels. As for the Galaxy Buds Live, they are the latest iteration of TWS earbuds from Samsung and these have a bean-like look, which is rather unique in the current market. They have two internal and external microphones, active noise cancellation to block ambient noise, and Always On Mic, which works with Bixby to listen to commands.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 and Galaxy Buds Live prices and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 price for the 41mm and 45mm Bluetooth models are $400 (approx Rs 30,000) and $430 (approx Rs 32,000), respectively. The LTE models are priced at $450 (approx Rs 33,600) and $480 (approx Rs 35,900), respectively. The smartwatch will go on sale in select markets starting August 6th. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live are priced at $170 and will be available from August 6th.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 specifications
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 45mm and 41mm sport a 1.4-inch and 1.2-inch circular displays respectively. They have a Super AMOLED display with 360 X 360 pixels resolution, rotating bezel for navigation, and Gorilla Glass DX. The smartwatch is powered by the in-house Exynos 9110 SoC coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage and boot Tizen OS 5.5 operating system out of the box. Connectivity features of the watch include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and GPS and have support for calls, SMS, and Email.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 features heart rate monitor, sleep monitor, 5 ATM, and IP68 water-resistance. It is also rated MIL-STD-810G for military-grade durability. The 41mm variant packs a 247mAh battery, while the 45mm version has a bigger 340mAh capacity battery. While the former measures 41 x 42.5 x 11.3 mm, the latter comes in at 45mm x 46.2mm x 11.1 mm. The smartwatch can track 39 different sport modes, offers basic functions such as a pedometer, and uses electrocardiogram (ECG) to monitor heart function. It also includes a function to detect elevated stress levels. It will be available in Wi-Fi-only model and an optional LTE variant as well.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Live specifications
Samsung Galaxy Buds Live TWS earbuds are AKG-optimised and have 12mm driver integrated. The earphones have touch, acceleration, reverb, and distance sensors. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live are claimed to last up to 6 hours, and the carry case offers an additional 15 hours of playback time. The case supports Qi wireless charging support and Quick Charge that can give 1 hour of playback time with just 5 minutes of charge. There are touch controls to increase/decrease volume, to answer calls, or to control music playback. The Samsung Galaxy Buds Live connect via Bluetooth and their charging case has a USB Type-C port for charging.
