Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 launch date has finally been announced by the company. At this point, the wearable has been in the news for a while now, and we already know a fair deal about the watch. Now, Samsung through a brief video clip has confirmed the Galaxy Watch Active 2 launch date as August 5th, a couple of days ahead of the Galaxy Note 10 announcement. The teaser highlights the heart rate sensor flickering, possibly suggesting the rumoured EKG capability. However, the feature won’t be ready until 2020, according to reports. Moreover, the video also confirms the Galaxy Tab S6 will be launching at some point later today. It is expected to come with Snapdragon 855, dual rear cameras, and an S Pen.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 will include a new touch bezel in place of the rotating bezel and users can use their fingers on the touch bezel for navigation. It is said to come in 44mm and 40mm sizes and both measure 36 and 31 grams, respectively. They sport a 1.4-inch and 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display with 360×360 pixels resolution and Gorilla Glass DX+ layer. The watch is expected to be powered by the Exynos 9110 chipset and pack 340mAh and 247mAh battery capacities.
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 supports Bluetooth 5.0 and will be available in LTE model as well. The Watch will also be available in Stainless Steel and Aluminium finishes for both sizes. The Bluetooth and LTE models said to pack 4GB internal storage paired with 786MB and 1.5GB RAM, respectively. The black and silver colour options are expected to be available for the entire range, while the Pink Gold will be offered for the 44mm and 40mm in Aluminium and Gold will be available for both sizes in Stainless Steel.
