Samsung Galaxy Watches to new new AI features soon

  • An APK teardown of SecClockWorkSysUI version 4.0.57 has revealed that Samsung is planning to bring two artificial intelligence-based features from One UI 7 to its Galaxy smartwatches, Android Authority reported.
  • These features are Now Bar and Now Brief.
  • Samsung’s Now Bar feature appears on the top of the screen and it acts as a one-stop-destination for getting all relevant updates from news updates and sports scores to workout progress. On Samsung Galaxy smartphones, users can simply tap a specific update to get more information about it.
  • Now Brief, on the other hand, gives users a personalised briefing of a specific content that updates throughout the day.

  • The report says that Samsung is customising this feature according to the user interface of a smartwatch.
  • It is also planning to add various customisation options, which includes minimal visual and a more detailed display, for the users.
  • Users, as per the report, will be able to double pinch to open the Now Bar on their Samsung Galaxy smartwatches and enable actions when it has no content.
  • The code in the APK teardown has also revealed all the actions that Now Bar will support. The list includes — Maps, Media Controls, Contextual Suggestions, Now Brief, tips to use Now Bar and Sports on Google for live sports scores.
  • As far as availability is concerned, these features are likely to arrive on Samsung Galaxy smartwatches with the roll out of Android 16-based One UI 8 Watch.

It is worth mentioning that this development comes shortly after reports suggested that Samsung is likely to skip Android 15-based One UI 7 Watch to directly roll out One UI 8 Watch to its smartwatches. One UI 8 Watch is expected to bring AI-based features along with new health-tracking features to Samsung’s smartwatches.
