- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is expected to come with Snapdragon 865, Android 10 OS, 8GB RAM, and clamshell design
- The TENAA listing reveals the handset will support NR, NSA/NR, SA/TD-LTE/LTE, FDD/WCDMA/GSM bands
- It has been spotted on Bluetooth SIG website with four model numbers
The 5G variant of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will reportedly launch alongside the Galaxy Note 20 line-up and Galaxy Fold 2 at the Unpacked event, which is tipped to be scheduled for August 5th. The handset was earlier spotted on Geekbench; the listing suggested it will come with the latest Snapdragon 865 SoC, which is expected. Now, the South Korean giant’s upcoming foldable phone has been certified by TENAA in China with model number SM-F7070. The model number matches with the benchmark listing and it reiterates the fact that the phone will have 5G connectivity. The listing reveals it will boot Android OS, likely to be Android 10, and supported bands are NR, NSA/NR, SA/TD-LTE/LTE, FDD/WCDMA/GSM.
Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G clamshell foldable has also passed through the Bluetooth SIG certification. The listing contains multiple model numbers: SM-F707B, SM-F707N, SM-F707U, SM-F707U1, SM-F707U_SPR, SM-F707W, and SM-F7070. Interestingly, it is listed with ‘Bloom-X’ code name. To recall, the original Galaxy Z Flip 4G had the codename ‘Bloom’. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G will support Bluetooth 5.0, despite the chipset supporting the more latest Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity. Unfortunately, not much else is revealed about the Galaxy Z Flip 5G at the moment, but we can speculate it may have similar hardware the 4G model.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G managed to score 970 points in single-core and 3,220 in Geekbench multi-core tests, respectively. It revealed the handset will pack 8GB RAM and boot Android 10 OS, likely to be skinned with OneUI 2.5. China’s 3C listing suggested it will ship with the same 15W fast-charger. Since the said launch is still over a month away, we should learn more details going forward.
