Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE (Fan Edition) has now appeared on India’s BIS certification website, after earlier listings on Geekbench, the 3C database, and Samsung’s OTA server. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is expected to be a pared-down variant of the forthcoming flagship-grade Galaxy Z Flip 7, which itself was spotted on BIS the other day. The brand’s foldable lineup last year did not include an FE model. So, the FE model may come as an option for those of you in India awaiting a more affordable clamshell-type Galaxy foldable. Here are the details:

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: what else to know

  • Processor: From the Geekbench listing, we have seen the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE runs on Samsung’s Exynos 2400 SoC. If this is true, then that means it will be the first time we could get a Samsung foldable with a non-Snapdragon SoC. Exynos 2400 came out in 2024 as a 10-core chipset based on a 4nm process node and has a 3.21GHz top clock speed.
  • Graphics: The CPU’s performance would be complemented by an Xclipse 940 GPU that Samsung made with AMD. It is based on RDNA 3 architecture, supports ray tracing in games, and is said to offer better thermal management. For a flip-style compact device, the latter would especially matter.
  • Software: It could ship with Android 15 and support Android 16-based One UI 8 when that eventually releases.
  • Miscellaneous: Among other things, the Z Flip 7 FE’s Geekbench listing revealed 8GB of RAM and the 3C certification suggests 25W fast charging.

There have been some rumours that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE could be similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 in some sense. Well, what that similarity is remains unclear, if it exists at all.

As per the Greek publication TechManiacs, the FE could cost EUR 1,000 (about Rs 98,000). That means it could be cheaper than the Rs 1,09,999 starting price tag of the Z Flip 6.

Let’s see. The new foldables may launch at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event in July. We will keep you posted.
