“Samsung Galaxy Z Flip comes with a foldable screen that bends vertically and has a foldable 6.67-inch display and a small Cover Display”
Samsung has launched the Galaxy Z Flip, which is its second-gen foldable smartphone succeeding last year’s Galaxy Fold. The handset was unveiled alongside the vendor’s all-new Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Buds+. The new Galaxy Z Flip comes with a clamshell design, which seems to be inspired by Moto RAZR 2019, and sports a foldable screen that shuts vertically like a flip phone instead of horizontally. The phone has a smaller form factor compared to its predecessor and features a total of three cameras instead of six. The Galaxy Z Flip has Qualcomm’s gaming-centric Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC ticking at its core and a tiny cover display alongside the dual rear cameras to view notifications such as calls or messages.

As with the Fold, the handset’s screen doesn’t fold completely and shows a crease in the middle when the device is unfolded. The display bears 2636 x 1080 resolution and a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The cover of the Galaxy Z Flip features a tiny 1.06-inch secondary colour display for notifications. The small display is placed next to the dual-camera setup, which comprises of a 12MP primary sensor featuring 1.4-micron pixels and f/1.8 aperture and a secondary 123-degree ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 1.12-micron pixel size.
