Samsung will introduce an affordable clamshell foldable smartphone for the first time, which could hit the markets under the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE moniker. A new report has revealed that the vanilla Galaxy Z Flip 7 could pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite instead of the in-house Exynos SOC. It also reveals the launch of the affordable Galaxy Z Flip FE smartphone has been delayed.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip FE launch reportedly delayed
- The report about the delay in the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip FE was shared by The Bell, a South Korean media outlet.
- Samsung will reportedly use the upcoming Exynos 2500 SoC inside the Galaxy Z Flip FE smartphone.
- The primary reason is the inability of Samsung Foundry to produce the required number of 3nm chipsets.
- The Galaxy Z Flip FE will launch several months after the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7, which are expected to arrive in July, like their predecessors.
- Samsung initially designed the Exynos 2500 to power the vanilla Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ smartphones but later dropped them due to low yield issues with its 3nm process.
Rumours suggest Samsung is using a Qualcomm chipset for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 to avoid harming sales, as previous models came with Qualcomm chips. Samsung might also launch its first tri-fold smartphone later this year. However, there is no conclusive information about the launch timeline of the tri-fold device.
