Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 durability test
Zack from JerryRigEverything has put out a new video in which he tortures the Z Fold 6 using his tools and dust. You get the usual scratch test, bend test, and the disassembly of the phone.
Let’s start from the beginning. In the scratch test, the the exterior layers of the main (inner) display get scratched at level 2 and deeper grooves appear at level 3.
Moving to the cover screen, the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 glass scratches at level 6 and gets deeper grooves at level 7.
Next up, in the fire test, the main screen’s pixel dies and the protective layer melts in about 25 seconds under a lighter’s heat.
In the bend test, the device shows signs of trouble when it is opened and bent from the backside. The main screen appears to flex in the video. When pressured from other ways, the Samsung foldable fares decently.

Finally, the YouTuber drops a lot of dust on the Samsung Z Fold 6, especially to test its claimed IP48 dust rating. Zack notes there is some discernible noise when he tries closing the hinge with the dust inside.
Later he disassembles the Fold and its hinge to find out if some of that dirt got inside.
Speaking of which:

While peeling off the screen, the ribbon underpinning the AMOLED gets scratched by Zack’s knife and catches a spark. He remarks this hasn’t happened before.
Even after all this, interestingly enough, the phone was working.
Zack also appreciates the phone’s dual batteries aren’t hard to remove for repair purposes. He also points out internal protections for keeping water out (as long the device is immersed up to a depth of 1.5m for 30 minutes).
Lastly, he gets to unscrew the sealed hinge and is surprised to see dirt inside. Watch the full video to hear about his experience and see the internal components.
