Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 battery capacities revealed through UL Demko certification

Leaks and rumours about Samsung’s seventh-generation foldables are gathering pace. We have already learnt plenty of details about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. A recent report suggests that the devices would debut in the first week of July at an Unpacked event in the US. Now, both the upcoming foldables have been spotted on the UL Solutions Demko certification website, revealing their battery capacities. 

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 batteries surface

  • The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 have been spotted (via) on the UL Solutions Demko certification website. 
  • The Galaxy Z Fold 7’s batteries have model numbers EB-BF966ABE and EB-BF967ABE. The certification mentions secondary Li-ion battery cells with capacities of 2,126mAh and 2,146mAh.
  • This means a total battery capacity of 4,272mAh which seems slightly less than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6‘s 4,400mAh cell.

  • Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7’s battery is listed with model numbers EB-BF766ABE and EB-BF767ABE
  • The certification reveals a combination of 1,189mAh and 2,985mAh batteries, totalling to 4,174mAh indicating a slightly larger battery capacity compared to the 4,000mAh that powers the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
  • The UL Solutions Demko listings do not reveal any additional details. However, a 3C certification of both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 revealed support for 25W fast charging which is the same as their predecessors. 

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7: what we know so far

  • As per a report, both the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are expected to ship with One UI 8 based on Android 16 OS out of the box. 
  • The book-style foldable is rumoured to come with many upgrades including a 200MP main camera, less visible display crease, smoother hinge mechanism, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC. 
  • Meanwhile, a recent rumour revealed that Samsung has finalised Exynos 2500 chipset for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The South Korean brand could indeed switch to its own SoC from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. 
  • The clamshell foldable is also said to feature a larger secondary screen measuring 4 inches. 

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 debuted in July last year starting at Rs 1,09,999 and Rs 1,64,999.
