Apple last week released an ad for its new iPad Pro. The ‘Crush’ ad, however, received a lot of backlash for its message that was perceived as destroying creativity. The Apple iPad ad is still available online but the brand did pull back its decision to air it on TV. Now Samsung has come up with its ‘UnCrush’ ad.
Samsung UnCrush vs Apple Crush
- Samsung posted a video with a very clear message targeting Apple’s iPad ad that failed. For context, Apple’s iPad ad showed a machine crushing things like musical instruments, computers, arcade machines, paints, sculptures, cameras, and more. The ad ends with all these things crushed and turned into the iPad Pro.
- People weren’t happy with the message being portrayed saying that Apple is trying to ‘crush’ creativity.
- Samsung has taken this opportunity to mock Apple by making its own version of the ad in a set very similar to the Apple iPad ad. Here, a woman is seen walking through the aftermath of the broken instruments picking up a guitar and playing it. There’s a Galaxy Tab S9 used as a music book with the guitar chords.
- The South Korean also plugs in its Galaxy Tab S9 series with the message, “Creativity cannot be crushed.”
Samsung did try to make the most out of this opportunity but the response doesn’t say the same. Not everyone’s impressed with this ad of Samsung mocking Apple but this incident also adds to the ongoing debate between the two tech giants. This isn’t the first time that Samsung has mocked Apple where the former has been pretty blunt with their messages.
In this ad, Apple was promoting its new iPad Pro that launched last week. This is Apple’s most powerful and thinnest iPad ever. It comes with the new M4 chip, OLED displays for the first time, and in a new 13-inch size. Apple issued an apology for the ad saying that it “missed the mark”.
