“Samsung could be planning to launch a new tablet or convertible with support for the stylus pen”
In the past few years, Samsung has launched a handful of tablets and convertibles with support for the brand’s S Pen stylus. Most recently, the South Korean tech giant launched the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 with the S Pen. Now, it appears that the company could be working on yet another stylus-toting device.
Samsung has filed a trademark for a device called “PenBook” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). While the trademark filing hasn’t revealed anything about this particular device, its name suggests that it could be a new stylus-toting tablet or convertible from the manufacturer. This is the first spotting of the Samsung PenBook anywhere on the web, which suggests that the device could be in early stages of development at the moment. The trademark hasn’t revealed anything else about the PenBook.
Talking about the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4, the slate was unveiled in August this year. The slate offers a desktop-like experience with the Samsung DeX feature, a long-lasting battery, slim bezels on all sides and a refined S Pen. The stylus on the device lets you take notes on the go using the Screen-Off Memo feature, as well as check directions, and organise notes via the Samsung Notes app. The slate is being offered at a starting price of around Rs 44,500.
