The Simple One electric scooter from Simple Energy will see the light of the day soon as the company announces deliveries are scheduled for commencement from June 2022. The Simple One electric scooter was first announced last year and has garnered 30,000 odd bookings since then. The electric scooter promises a range of 203km and a top speed of 105kmph with the first 40kmph from standstill coming up in just 2.95 seconds. Simple One competes with the likes of Ola Electric’s Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro, Ather Energy’s 450x, Bajaj Chetak, TVS i-Qube and also the Bounce Infinity E1 in the premium electric scooter segment.
Simple One deliveries to start in June 2022
Simple Energy has announced that the deliveries for its Simple One premium electric scooter will commence from June 2022. The company since launch has recorded an order book of 30,000 orders and is planning to roll out production-spec delivery ready vehicles from its Hosur, Tamil Nadu plant. The Phase One of Simple Energy’s Hosur plant is gearing up for large scale mass-manufacturing and has a theoretical production capacity of 1 million units in a year. The facility will soon be functional in the coming months. Simple Energy has also commissioned a second facility in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu that is spread across 600 acres of space and has posted a production capacity of 12.5 million units in a year.
The Simple One electric scooter is priced at Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom) before subsidies and is available for booking at a cost of Rs 1,947.
Simple One specifications
The Simple One electric scooter boasts an 8.5kW motor which produces 72Nm of torque with help from the 4.8kWh battery pack on board. This motor-battery combination delivers a 105kmph top speed with a 0-40kmph time of 2.95 seconds. Claimed figures for range under ideal conditions go up to 236km on a single charge. There is a combined braking system with petal-shaped front discs for added stopping power. The Simple One electric scooter delivers practicality in the form of a 30L under-seat storage.
The Simple One comes in four colour options – Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue, and Grace White.
