Unless you’ve been living under a rock then you would know that the coronavirus pandemic has quite literally upended the world order, bringing economies to a screeching halt and forcing billions into a mandatory lockdown. The smartphone industry is also reeling from the outbreak with sales projected to fall dramatically in the coming weeks. Even so, companies are alleviating some of the concerns that Indian customers could have, particularly with phone warranties being expired since the lockdown started. This is why brands like OPPO, Realme, Samsung, OnePlus and more are offering extended warranty on devices. Read on to find out if your company is offering a warranty extension.
Chinese giant Oppo has said that it will be extending the warranty services for OPPO smartphones, accessories and even the customer service offers. The company says that this includes only those smartphones and accessories whose warranty has expired during the lockdown period starting March 23rd 2020. Oppo has said that the warranty period extension is till May 31st.
Realme has decided to extend the warranty on devices till May 31st, whose warranty was to expire between March 20th and April 30th, 2020. The replacement period of the phones recently purchased have also been extended by 30 days.
Samsung has announced that products with warranty that expires between March 20th and April 30th will receive an extension until May 31st 2020. This applies on Samsung phones, tablets, smartwatches, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and TVs.
OnePlus will be extending warranties till May 31st for devices with warranty ending between March 1st and May 30th. In addition to this, OnePlus has also announced it has extended phone replacement period from 15 days to 30 days.
Vivo says it will be extending the warranty of its smartphones till May 31st. This offer applies to smartphones whose warranty expired on March 25th.
Huawei and Honor
Huawei has also announced it is extending product warranty until June 30th due to the coronavirus lockdown. The offer will be available for all Huawei products including smartphones, laptops, and accessories for which the warranty expires between March 21st and June 21st. The same offer also applies for Honor products as well.
Lenovo and Motorola
Lenovo, which also owns the Motorola brand, has said that it would be offering a free global warranty extension for up to 75 days through May 31st, 2020. These are only for devices who’s warranty will be getting over between March 15th and April 30th, 2020.
Taiwan-based electronics giant, Asus, has said that it will be giving a 30-day extension on warranties of all Smartphones, Laptops, Desktops, All in one, and Tablets that are expiring between the lockdown period starting from March 25th to April 14th.
Smartphone company itel, owned by Transsion India, has also said that it will be extending the warranty period of its phones by a period of two months. The extension will be applicable for the models whose warranty expires between March 20th and May 31st. The status of your upgraded warranty will be available the CarlCare mobile app.
Lava has announced that it would be extending the warranty extension on all its smartphones and feature phones for a period of 60 days. It is applicable only on smartphones that are having their warrant expiring between March 15th and May 15th.
Infinix India has announced an extension of the warranty policy for due to the COVID-19 lockdown. The extension dates for the warranty policies will be applicable to models that fall under the “Out of Warranty” period from March 20th, 2020 till May 31st, 2020. All devices falling under this period will be getting an automatic warranty extention of two months. Users can visit the Carlcare app on their Infinix devices to check the status of their warranty
