February saw a laundry list of smartphone launches, both globally and in India, from the likes of POCO, Realme, Redmi, OPPO, Samsung, Nokia, and even LG. Things started off with the low-cost POCO M3, followed by the 5G-ready Realme X7 and Realme X7 Pro in India. The Realme V11 5G got launched too, but only in China. The low-cost Nokia 5.4 and Nokia 3.4 largely flew under the radar, as its launch was overshadowed by the Samsung Galaxy F62, which also relaunched as the Samsung Galaxy M62 sometime after. Things ended with a bang too, with the highly-awaited Realme Narzo 30A and Narzo 30 Pro being launched just before the Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro+.

POCO M3 price in India is set at Rs 10,999 for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, while the 6GB+128GB option costs Rs 11,999. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 662 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and up to 128GB storage expandable via a microSD card. The phone ships with a 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS LCD screen and a 6,000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. Its triple camera setup consists of a 48MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. Selfies and video callers are handled by an 8MP camera. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner too.

Realme X7 price in India is Rs 19,999 for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant and Rs 21,999 for 8GB+128GB option. It ships with a 6.4-inch 60Hz Super AMOLED FHD+ panel.  A MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset paired with 6GB/ 8GB RAM and 128GB storage powers the handset. Its triple rear camera setup consists of a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide sensor, and 2MP macro sensor. A 16MP sensor handles selfies and video calls. The smartphone houses a 4,300mAh battery with 50W SuperDart charging support.

Realme X7 Pro price in India starts at Rs 29,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. It features a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED screen clocked at 120Hz. A punch-hole cutout on the top left houses a 32MP camera. The quad-camera setup includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. A MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC coupled with 8GB RAM powers the Realme 7 Pro, along with 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone employs an in-display fingerprint scanner for security and packs a 4,500mAh battery that supports fast charging at 65W. 

Samsung Galaxy M12 specifications

Samsung Galaxy M12 comes with a 6.5-inch PLS TFT display with HD+ resolution. It is powered by a mystery 2GHz octa-core chipset (probably the Exynos 9611) with 3GB/ 4GB/ 6GB RAM and 32GB/ 64GB/ 128GB storage that is further expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card. Samsung Galaxy M12 cameras include a 16MP module for selfies and video chats. Its quad-camera array consists of a 48MP primary sensor, 5MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. A 6,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support powers it.

The Realme V11 5G was launched in China priced at RMB 1,199 (approx Rs 13,500) for the 4GB + 128GB model, while the 6GB + 128GB variant costs RMB 1,399 (around Rs 15,800). It comes with a 6.52-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1600 pixels resolutions. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset coupled with 6GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage that is further expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. Realme V11 has a dual-camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. An 8MP module takes care of selfies and video chats. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. The device runs on Android 10-based Realme UI custom skin on top and it comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security.

Nokia 5.4 price in India is set at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB + 64GB and Rs 15,499 for 6GB + 64GB model. It has a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution, and 600 nits peak brightness. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC and up to 8GB RAM 128GB storage. It features a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast-charging support. Its triple-camera array consists of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro lens. A 16MP module handles selfies and video chats. Realme has thrown in a side-mounted fingerprint too.

The Realme Narzo 30A price in India is much lower and starts at Rs 8,999 for the 3GB + 32GB model. The handset’s 4GB + 64GB variant is priced at Rs 9,999. It sports a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie camera The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC paired with up to 4GB LPDDR4X, and 64GB storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. Its dual-rear camera array has a 13MP primary sensor and a B&W portrait lens. A 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support powers the smartphone. 

OPPO Reno5 K price and specifications

OPPO Reno5 K sports a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2400×1080  clocked at 90Hz. It is powered by the Snapdragon 750G SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB. The smartphone comes with a quad-camera array that consists of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP mono portrait lens. There is a 32MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports fast charging at 65W.

Redmi K40 was launched in China this week with a starting price of CNY 1,999 (approx Rs 22,400) for the 6GB+128GB model and CNY 2,199 (approx Rs 24,700) for the 8GB+128GB option. The phone sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display that has a refresh rate of 120Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch response, and a small punch-hole cutout that houses its 20MP selfie camera. It is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 870 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage that will be further expandable via a microSD card. Its triple-camera array consists of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 5MP macro lens. The phone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and is powered by a 4,520mAh battery that supports 33W fast-charging support. 

Redmi K40 Pro and K40 Pro+ price and specifications

The Redmi K40 Pro starts at CNY 2,799 (approx Rs 31,500) for the 6GB+128GB variant. The 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants are priced at CNY 2,999 (approx Rs 33,700) and CNY 3,299 (approx Rs 37,100), respectively. There is only one Redmi K40 Pro+ model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, which costs CNY 3,699 (approx Rs 41,600). Both phones feature a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1300 nits peak brightness.

Similarly, both devices are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, up to 12GB RAM, and 512GB storage. Their 4,520mAh batteries support 33W fast-charging. The Redmi K40 Pro gets a triple camera system that includes a 64MP primary camera, 8MP wide-angle lens, and 5MP macro lens. The Redmi K40 Pro replaces the 64MP lens with a 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor. Lastly, a 20MP camera takes care of selfies and video calls.
