Sony has launched the new MASTER series A9G 4K HDR OLED TVs in India. These come in two sizes of 55-inch (KD-55A9G) and 65-inch (KD-65A9G), and they are powered by the X1 Ultimate picture processor. The TVs come with contrast booster for more colour and contrast in bright areas. The processor can also scale up the standard definition and high definition content to near 4K picture quality. The TVs support HDR10, Dolby Vision and a special picture mode for Netflix Originals called the Netflix Calibrated Mode. This mode is claimed to reproduce the same picture quality as the content creators intend to be viewed.
The Sony A9G TVs runs Android 8.0 Oreo, and apps like Google Play, YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Video, Hotstar, ALT Balaji, Zee5, Sony LIV and more come pre-installed. The TV supports Google Assistant for hands-free voice control and is compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. Sony A9G Bravia OLED TV features Acoustic Surface Audio+ and has 2.2 channel speaker setup with two actuators and two subwoofers. It also supports Dolby Atmos and DTS Digital Sound. There is 16GB onboard storage and built-in Chromecast.
Additionally, Sony has also launched the A8G BRAVIA OLED 4K TV series in 55-and 65-inch sizes. These models are powered by the HDR Processor X1 and pack Object-based HDR remaster, Super Bit Mapping 4K HDR and Dual database processing. The TV also supports Acoustic Surface Audio that allows Sound-from-Picture Reality. These Android TVs come with Google Assistant built-in for voice control. The Sony A9G 55-inch (KD-55A9G) and 65-inch (KD-65A9G) TVs are priced at Rs 269,990 and Rs 369,990, respectively. The Sony A8G 55-inch (KD- 55A8G) is priced at Rs 219,990, while the 65-inch (KD-65A8G) sets you back by Rs 319,990. These TVs will be available at Sony Centers, authorised dealers, and e-commerce portals across India.
